How Think Manav Education collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit megalawbooks.in or buy our books.

1. About this policy

The website megalawbooks.in (the “Website”) is operated by Think Manav Education (“we”, “us” or “our”), based in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. We sell print-only books under the MEGA LAW & G.K. name.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Website, placing an order or contacting us, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

We have written this policy to follow Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as they apply to us.

This policy covers megalawbooks.in only. Our main website, megalaw.in, and our course platform, course.megagk.in, may have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name, phone or WhatsApp number and email address.
  • Your delivery address and order details when you buy a book.
  • Your class or stage (for example Class 11, Class 12, dropper or parent), the book you are interested in, and any message you write to us.
  • Anything you tell us when you call, message or email our team.

Payment information

Payments are handled by third-party payment partners. We receive confirmation that your payment was made, but we do not store your full card, UPI or bank details.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Website, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, the time you spend on them, the page that sent you to us, and your approximate location. This is collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 5).

Information from our advertising

If you respond to one of our advertisements, for example by submitting a lead form on a social media platform, we receive the details you submit.

What we do not want from you

We do not ask for passwords, banking passwords, or health information. Please do not send them to us.

6. Students under 18

Many of our readers are school students. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place an order and to share contact details on your behalf.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information without that consent, write to us and we will delete it.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires.

  • Orders and payments: for the period required by tax and accounting laws.
  • Enquiries: while we help you, and for a reasonable time afterwards.
  • Messages and updates: until you opt out or ask us to delete your details.

After that, we delete the information or make it anonymous.

8. How we protect your information

We use reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your information, such as secure connections (HTTPS) and limits on who can see it. No website or system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please keep your own devices and accounts safe.

9. Your choices and rights

Under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a summary of the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;

  • stop receiving updates and offers from us, by replying “STOP”, using the unsubscribe option, or writing to us;
  • name another person to exercise your rights if you cannot; and
  • make a complaint, as explained in section 13.

To use any of these rights, email info@megalaw.in from the email address, or call from the phone number, that you gave us. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on your request.

The Website links to other websites, including megalaw.in and course.megagk.in. We are not responsible for how other websites handle your information. Please read their privacy policies before you share anything with them.

11. Where your information is processed

Some of our service providers, such as Google, may store or process information on servers outside India. We take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled with proper care, and it is transferred only where Indian law allows.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make an important change, we will say so on the Website. If you keep using the Website after a change, you accept the updated policy.
